Atelier Moderne Textiles, is a setting where the exchange
of ideas coupled with an acute interest in innovation and design merge together
outside any set of pre-determined parameters or stylistic dogma.
In a world filled with endless offerings, we strive to bring originality paired
with true craftsmanship, along with clarity through harmony of design.
Although we do listen to common design cues that translate into individually
tailored textiles, this approach is often the exception, not the rule. We prefer to
maintain a good dose of improvisation, design instinct, and embrace the beauty that
unstructured chaos brings to the development of unique textiles.
Our true and single constant, is to always embrace the finest materials coupled
with time proven craftsmanship; while our ultimate objective remains that of
surpassing our personal and clients' expectations.
The entire ideation and weaving process in our fabrics, embraces the quest to
create a textile, which can spark emotion, fulfil a desire, and provide a sense of
well being, in the definition of “beauty”.
L'Atelier
Atelier Moderne Textiles is founded by industry
veteran Claudio Chicco in 2014 in New York.
Mr. Chicco hails from renown fabric manufacturer Ratti Spa, and has extensive
experience in fashion textiles for high end designers in the USA.
His tenure with Antonio Ratti in Como, Italy introduced
and cemented his love and respect for superlative craftsmanship and noble materials.
While his long experience in Fashion Textile development and collaborations with
renown top designers as Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera complemented his core
of skills and expertise. This long 20 year stage opened the door to his true
original love for the design of textiles for interiors.
His formative experience, led to his unique approach to textile design and
production, combining traditional expertise from a time gone by with modern weaving
technology that results in original highly refined bespoke textiles.
Its creative inspiration is as diverse as the design it produces.
Sensitivity and sensibility comes from all aspects of our world, often organic and
unexpected inspiration from nature, as well as from ancient textiles, and the sphere
of fashion and art.
Atelier Moderne Textiles, based in New York and Mougins France, is offered
exclusively to top interior designers, decorators and architects, worldwide.
